Biography
Marvin J. Wright started working in public accounting in 1977. He worked with a national accounting firm in Louisville and then became partner in a local Evansville accounting firm before founding Wright Consultants, LLC in 1983. After twenty-four years of operating the accounting and financial services firm, Wright Consultants, LLC was merged into Kemper CPA Group LLP in 2007 which is when he joined Kemper Capital Management LLC. Marvin has taught accounting and continuing education courses at the University of Southern Indiana and made numerous presentations to CPA’s and small business owners. Marvin earned his CPA license in 1980, security and insurance licenses in 2000, and CFP® certificate in 2004.
Education
Marvin graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Evansville in 1977.
Family
Marvin’s family consists of his wife Nancy, who was his high school sweetheart, four children; Josi, Lori, Courtney, Matthew and one grandchild, Rene.
Professional Affiliations
Marvin is a member of the American Institute of CPA’s, the Indiana CPA Society, where he served as president of the Southern Indiana Chapter and chairman of the Management Advisory Committee, the Kentucky Society of CPA’s, the Institute of Management Accountants and is on the board of directors of the Evansville Estate Planning Council.
Community Affiliations
Marvin has served on a number of nonprofit boards and held roles of chairman, president and treasurer. These organizations include Evansville ARC, Evansville Small Business Center, Growth Alliance of Greater Evansville (GAGE), United Way of Southwestern Indiana, Leadership Evansville, Vanderburgh County CASA, USI Accounting Circle, USI Board of Advisors, Evansville Kennel Club, Messiah Lutheran Church and Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Personal Interests
Marvin enjoys horseback riding, bicycling, pitching horseshoes and raising animals and hay on his small farm. He receives his greatest pleasures spending time and experiences with his family.
