Lance was raised in Marion, Illinois. After graduating from Marion High School, he attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. He worked as a manager for FedEx for five years before returning to Southern Illinois University to earn a Master of Accountancy degree with a specialization in taxation.
Prior to joining Kemper CPA Group, Lance worked as an accountant for a lawyer/entrepreneur and a grain elevator. After joining Kemper in 2009 and passing all four parts of the CPA exam on his first attempt, Lance was able to handle the preparation of complex tax returns and be a member of the various audit teams. He has completed the Faurote Group Leadership Training and is in the process of obtaining the QuickBooks Pro-Advisor Certification.
Lance has served as a vote tabulator for the Miss Illinois Scholarship Pageant for several years and has been a member of the “bank team” for the Relay for Life event. He currently serves as the bookkeeper for the Marion Youth Baseball and Softball Association, a position he has held for six years.
Lance is married to Amanda Roye. They have a son and a daughter.
